Ghost of Yotei is one of the most anticipated games right now and is set to release on October 2. The spiritual successor to Ghost of Tsushima already looks stunning and promising in terms of world design and gameplay. While Sucker Punch is finishing the game, co-creative director Nate Fox gave an interview about it to Game Informer. During the interview, the topic of their previous big IP InFamous came up.

InFamous is a very beloved franchise where you play a conduit – a human with superpowers – in a world where they are oppressed and hunted down by the government. You get to decide whether you want to take a heroic or a villainous approach to the game. 2014 Sucker Punch released the last entry in the franchise with InFamous Second Son and its DLC InFamous First Light.

Nate Fox stated that he would love to revisit InFamous – maybe with a trilogy re-release – but it will not happen anytime soon. He said that Sucker Punch is a one game at a time shop, and right now they are focused on Ghost of Yotei. This is commendable in many ways, and even more exciting if you think about it.

One Game At A Time

Many big studios like to have more than one iron in the fire. At first glance this seems like a decent idea since the fans of these studios can be excited about more than one game, while the studio is going a safer route in case one game fails. The reality is a bit more complicated, since this also means that the developers need to split their teams and focus, which also makes it more difficult to organize and overlook every project at once.

Sucker Punch's success with the "one game at a time" policy speaks for itself. Every franchise that's been developed under the studio has been a success so far. Be it Sly Cooper, InFamous or Ghost of Tsushima. If and how they ever revisit InFamous is yet to be seen, but no matter what Sucker Punch will focus on after Ghost of Yotei, will definitely have their full attention.
