Elon Musk starts game studio to "make games great again"... with AI, of all things

Elon Musk is back at it again, this time trying to "fix" the gaming industry.

When Elon Musk isn't spouting nonsense about politics, he's spouting nonsense about everything else. In this case, he's picked the gaming industry as his next fleeting 'grand idea'.

Elon Musk wants to make AI game studio

On November 27, Elon Musk replied to a Twitter/X post from Dogecoin co-creator Billy Markus, who said: "I don't understand how game developers and game journalism got ideologically captured."

"Gamers have always rejected dumb manipulative BS, and can tell when someone is an outsider poser."

Musk stated that the gaming industry has become too "woke" and is overrun by massive corporations, that games are no longer produced for gamers. Thank God there's a list of all the games with woke content in them – not kidding.

"Too many game studios that are owned by massive corporations. xAI is going to start an AI game studio to make games great again!" said Musk in response to Markus, apparently completely forgetting the fact that he's contradicting himself with that statement alone.

Basically, what Musk, the richest man in the world, is saying is that xAI, his mega corporation — that, by the way, already has at least 100,000 Nvidia GPUs to its name, despite it being in "startup" still — will single-handedly fix the gaming industry that is dominated by mega corporations. With AI.

He also stated in another post that game developers should "skip the woke lecture" and "just make good games."

It's very unlikely that Musk will actually go through with this idea that likely came to him at random. And he hasn't even specified at all what he means when he speaks of an "AI game studio" — will the entire production be done with AI or only specific parts like the audio or visual design?

And if he really does create a game with this "studio", it no doubt will be a massive flop. Other mega corporations like Netflix and Google have already tried their luck in the gaming industry, and they quickly realized just how difficult making a good and successful game really is.

What is your opinion on Musk's latest whim? Do you agree with his statements, or do they make you dislike him even more? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
