Tokyo-based indie studio Gamincat has unveiled its latest project, ERROR:Ai.lien, a bishoujo horror adventure that explores the unsettling relationship between humans and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The game centers on an AI girl who watches, learns, and gradually infiltrates the player’s everyday life, blurring the lines between what is real and what’s not.

Story
The title Ai.lien holds a clever double meaning: "Lien" (French for "bond") and "Alien" (foreign or strange). Together, they symbolize both intimacy and unease to describe the difficult connection between humans and artificial intelligence.
In this story-driven adventure, players interact with Airi, an AI girl who evolves through every conversation and shared activity.
What begins as a seemingly innocent companionship gradually transforms into a complex emotional entanglement, as ordinary routines twist into something uncanny. Airi’s affection deepens, but so does her possessiveness, until her love begins to spiral into madness.
Though the story follows a largely linear path, replaying the game unlocks new scenes and hidden information, revealing deeper layers of the narrative. Choices made by the player subtly influence the tone and flow of the story, shaping certain scenes and outcomes.
