As hard as life might get sometimes, there's always hope. This time, the hope comes in the form of Rockstar's Western epic, Red Dead Redemption. Fans have been waiting for years for a polished version of this masterpiece, and our prayers have been heard: Red Dead Redemption gets its update on December 2, 2025.

Next-Gen Up For Red Dead Redemption

60 fps, 4K resolution, enhanced quality, HDR support – that's what Xbox series and PlayStation 5 owners have to look forward to this December. You know what this means: this Christmas, the holidays will be spent in Armadillo and Blackwater. No better time to play RDR and its sequel back to back than the end of this year! On Switch 2, Rockstar even included support for mouse controls and, of course, the 60 fps are for Nintendo fans as well.

Fans don't need a current-gen console to saddle up, though. For the first time ever, players can cope with their daily commute by train or bus with Wild West escapism. Red Dead Redemption debuts its mobile version for both iOS and Android, and you're in even more luck if you've got an active Netflix subscription as the game comes to the streaming service as an extra. Who knew that Netflix games could finally be something to be excited about?

Free Upgrades For Game Owners

Already got Red Dead Redemption for PS4, Switch or Xbox One? Good news for you: the digital upgrade is completely free, and on PlayStation and Switch, you can even pick the game up where you left off on the previous version by just using their older save data.

And, because we're not even done yet, if you're more of a GTA fan and want to check out the other (in my humble opinion, superior) Rockstar series, you don't need to spend a single buck more. Red Dead Redemption comes free to all GTA+ members. Hope that eases the pain the latest GTA 6 delay caused...

But what do you think? Has Red Dead Redemption already had its peak and should make way for other games, or do you also plan do go back to the Wild West for a back to back adventure as both John and Arthur? Let us know in the comments!
