The long wait draws to a close, now that HoYoverse has finally announced Sunday as the next playable character coming to Honkai Star Rail. Fans have been waiting for his release ever since his first appearance in the game, and now, it's about to happen.

When will Sunday be released as a playable character?

If Star Rail follows its usual version pattern, Sunday's banner is expected to start on December 3, 2024, and end on December 25, 2024.

This might vary by a few days, if any sudden changes occur.

Who is Sunday?

Sunday is the former head of the Oak Family, one of the five factions within The Family — the ruling organization of Penacony, made up of different beings blessed by Xipe The Harmony.

He was the antagonist of the Penacony main story but, when he was ultimately defeated, we didn't know exactly where he had gone.

That was up until version 2.3, where, at the very end of the main quest, we saw a small conversation between him and Jade that teased his eventual return.

Now HoYoverse refers to him as a traveler, suggesting that he might join the Astral Express in search of himself and his purpose. Or perhaps he will travel on his own, similar to Argenti.

What is Sunday's kit?

Sadly, we do not have any details on what his skills will look like yet. But, as the image suggests, he will become an Imaginary Harmony character, making him the first male Harmony character besides the male Trailblazer.

We will certainly keep you updated once HoYoverse releases further information on his kit and story.

What are your thoughts on his release? Are you excited for him?
