Larian’s CEO gives a shoutout to first-person mod in Baldur’s Gate 3.

An exciting new mod for Larian Studios' masterpiece BG3 has caught the attention of CEO Swen Vincke, who is eager to experience it for himself.
New Mod Transforms Gameplay in Baldur's Gate 3
The modding community surrounding Baldur’s Gate 3 is thriving. With the release of Patch 7 and the official modding toolkit, players have created innovative ways to enjoy the game, including real-time combat and a zombie mode reminiscent of those found in Call of Duty.
YouTuber Proxy Gate Tactician has combined several mods, including a camera mod, to create a first-person view while playing the game. This groundbreaking video has garnered attention, prompting Swen Vincke to react on X (formerly Twitter).

It's easy to see why Vincke is impressed by this mod, as it offers an almost completely different experience. Small details become much more noticeable when viewed from a first-person perspective, particularly interactions between NPCs. While some areas, like the scenic Monastery, look breathtaking from this vantage point, the Underdark presents an immersive and eerie environment.
Interestingly, Larian Studios once considered implementing a first-person feature but ultimately decided against it. Thanks to the creativity of modders, players can now experience the game from this perspective regardless.
