Dr. Maya Joshi, portrayed by actress Payal Mistry, stays behind on Isla Nublar after the island’s hasty evacuation. Her mission: survive while uncovering the island’s secrets. Unlike traditional action heroes, Maya is not a trained fighter. Instead, she relies on intelligence, cunning, and adaptability to evade the deadly dinosaurs.
The new trailer not only shows Mistry in motion-capture scenes but also offers insights into the development of her character. According to the actress, Maya is defined by courage, a sense of adventure, and emotional depth. She is set to stand shoulder to shoulder with iconic female characters from the Jurassic Park universe, such as Dr. Ellie Sattler. Fans can look forward to a hero who is both smart and emotionally relatable.
