Devolver Digital, the makers of "Enter the Gungeon", have also heard about the postponement of GTA 6 and have decided to take their diabolical plan to the next level.

The release of Rockstar's long-awaited Grand Theft Auto: 6 is the Goliath for many developer studios. But not for Devolver Digital: they're not just facing the final boss, they're almost mocking it. Their latest announcement leaves gamers in awe.
Who Will Take On Goliath?
After Devolver Digital announced a few weeks ago that they would not only be releasing their yet-to-be-announced game in the fall of 2025 , but also on the same day as GTA 6, fans were shocked, but also excited. Many studios specifically want to avoid the release of the video game giant and are planning their new games around the date. Although they may not (yet) be in the same league, they are well known: Games like Cult of the Lamb, Enter the Gungeon and also (insider tip!) Inscryption, which leaves you shocked.

You Postpone, We Postpone
After Rockstar officially postponed the release date of GTA 6 to May 26, 2026, Devolver Digital's response was prompt:
You can’t escape us.
This statement, which is understood as a threat, announces that they are also moving their release to the same day. Someone is daring! And it's going down really well with gamers: In general, Devolver Digital has a good reputation for their innovative games and interaction with the community. There is speculation whether it will be a new installment of Hotline Miami or perhaps... a GTA parody?

Der Stunt birgt auch große Risiken
It's definitely a bold approach, but could lead to the same effect as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and DOOM, which resulted in a sweet community partnership. Additionally, it's important to note that a rather smaller studio like DD could also be bleeding money with such a drastic shift. Whatever it is, we're happy to see another game from an innovative studio and bow down to this risky marketing stunt!
