Master Chief in CoD: Insider reveals scrapped collab

Past rumors about a potential crossover between Halo and Call of Duty have now been confirmed by a prominent insider, though sadly the whole idea has now been scrapped.

Crossovers are everywhere in modern gaming. And you need look no further than Fortnite to see why; a game that generates millions every day thanks to crossovers and celebrity collabs (just this week Shaqille O’Neal was added to the game).

Many of these crossovers and collabs are frankly uninspired, but Master Chief in Warzone? That would have been special. A metaphorical olive branch, connecting the franchises that were once rivals.

The Master Chief CoD skin rumors were true!

We first heard these rumors years ago, but now a leaker who goes by the name TheGhostOfHope has revealed that plans for a Halo-CoD crossover were real, although sadly scrapped:

While nothing official was ever announced, Hope shared a mock-up of a potential Master Chief bundle, including a Spartan Operator skin. It was supposed to also contain a melee weapon blueprint of the iconic Energy Sword, and was planned to arrive as part of an update during the Modern Warfare 3 cycle.

Since the newly rebranded Halo Studios already have just announced "a new dawn" for the franchise, who knows, perhaps the Halo-CoD collab is still possible in the future? For now, all we can do is long for what could have been.

What are your thoughts on the crossover? Would you like to have a Master Chief skin in CoD?
