Could Metroid Prime 4 really be released in September?

There has been a Nintendo Direct every month of the year so far, with only one exception. May was the only month when Nintendo didn't showcase any new games, and that's probably because of the Summer Game Fest being held in May. Also, the Switch 2 release date was right around the corner then, so maybe they were focusing on a seamless launch.
Leaker Supports Claim
So it's not only possible that Nintendo is going to hold another Direct in September, it's quite probable. Especially since famous leaker NateTheHate said that the anticipated Direct will happen around September 11 or 12.
Yes, there is a Nintendo Direct in September. When: The second week of the month, in the latter half on or around Sept 11 or 12th.

While this should be taken with at least a grain of salt, there was also one more occurrence that might support an upcoming Direct.
Metroid Prime 4
Nintendo has been fairly quiet about the highly anticipated sequel in the beloved Metroid franchise. The game was first announced eight years ago, in 2017, if you can believe it. Both in 2024 and in March 2025, Nintendo reassured us that the game will be out this year, but a release date hasn't been revealed yet. Or has it?
You can currently pre-order the game on the Russian online-store Videoigr, but what's most interesting about it is that they list a release date of September 18, 2025. A Nintendo Direct at September 12 would make sense, then. Imagine the hype it would generate if Nintendo finally announces the release date of this highly-anticipated game, and it's only one week away.
As always: Take that with a grain of salt as well!
Nintendo probably wouldn't release the game without properly announcing its official release date first. They play it relatively safe since the release of the Switch 2, and want as much traction as possible around their big releases. And the highly anticipated Metroid Prime wouldn't be the only reason for a Direct in September.
Mario's 40th Anniversary
The iconic plumber will celebrate 40 years of saving princesses from castles. But not only that, Super Mario Maker is also celebrating its 10-year anniversary. The anniversary will come up on September 13. So even if Nintendo would only hold a Direct in September to hype fans for Mario and announce Metroid Prime, it would still be more than enough to be seen as a success.
What are your hopes and expectations for a possible Direct in less than two weeks?
