Minecraft is about to get a lot cuter with its new update, and the community is already having far too much fun with it.
Minecraft is gearing up for what Mojang is calling its cutest game drop yet. Fans are already losing it over the new look for baby animals. In the latest snapshot, several mob babies have received visual overhauls that make them look far more charming and unique than before, not just tiny copies of the adults.
Baby Animals Get A Proper Redesign
The big focus right now is on the baby variants of farm and passive mobs like wolves, cats, pigs, chickens, cows, sheep, rabbits, and ocelots. Instead of being plain smaller versions of the adults, they now have unique models and textures that give them a distinct and cuter appearance. Players have especially noticed that the tiny chicks look more like little blocks with personality, and the rest of the baby creatures have been made chunkier.
Along with the visuals, Mojang has also added new sounds for many of the baby mobs so their noises match their size and personality better. That means wolf pups yip, kittens meow, and piglets make their own adorable sounds instead of just using the grown animal noises.
Community Can’t Stop Talking About Chickens
The reaction from the Minecraft community has been huge. Across social media, players have been sharing memes, screenshots, and jokes about the new baby mobs, with baby chickens stealing the spotlight. Fans have taken screenshots of the tiny cubed chicks and turned them into memes about how ridiculous and adorable they look at the same time. Players are even stacking them in fake “baby chicken towers” or joking that the new design is so cute it might ruin their productivity in survival worlds.

Testing Now, Full Release Soon
All of these baby mob updates are available right now in Minecraft’s Java snapshot and Bedrock beta builds, so you can hop in early and see the changes yourself if you like. Mojang hasn’t shared an exact full release date yet, but based on how they’ve been rolling out major updates, you can expect the full rollout to come later this year.
