24 minutes of Pokémon Presents and the fan community is wondering: Is there any news about Gen 10? Or just more events for Pokémon Sleep?

A new Pokémon Presents is coming up on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Thanks to an early YouTube placeholder published on the Korean Pokémon channel, we know the show will be exactly 24 minutes long.

Naturally, the Pokémon fan community is speculating about what could be included in an installment this long.

Here are our predictions based on the previous Directs' structure and the community's expectations:

Focus on Mobile Games

In recent years, The Pokémon Company has placed a strong focus on its mobile portfolio and brand-related products.

Consequently, a significant portion of the show is likely to be devoted to content that is not directly related to the main series on the Nintendo Switch.

The following titles could be spotlighted instead:

  • Pokémon Sleep: The game celebrates its two-year anniversary on July 21. New features or events are practically guaranteed.
  • Pokémon Masters EX is also approaching its anniversary, so new content may be released soon.
  • Pokémon Café ReMix and Pokémon Unite will likely receive minor updates, such as new costumes or rotating events.

Pokémon for Nintendo Switch Online

With several GameCube titles already confirmed for Nintendo Switch Online, classics such as Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness could be announced as the next NSO update – possibly as early as August.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A – The Only Real Hope for Substantial News

Likely to be the focus of attention is Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which is set to release on October 16, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

Elements that are expected to appear:

  • New trailer with gameplay snippets
  • Presentation of new mega evolutions(There are already wish lists circulating in the fan community that include possible mega developments such as Gogoat, Excadrill, Drapion, Cherrim and Skarmory)

Possible Scarlet/Violet Updates

New information on events, raids or even technical improvements for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet on the Switch 2 are also conceivable, although no big surprises are to be expected.

Gen 10 and 30 Years of Pokémon

Many fans are eagerly awaiting the first glimpse of the 10th generation of Pokémon, especially since 2026 will mark the series' 30th anniversary.

However, observers agree that a real announcement of the next main game is extremely unlikely.

If we see any sign of the new generation, it will likely just be a brief look back at 30 years of Pokémon, perhaps with a teaser like a picture of the new region, some concept art, or a short audio clip of the new Legendary Pokémon's cries.

The Expectation Trap

The Pokémon community (and frankly many other communities of all kinds) have a massive expectation problem – that's no secret.

Aside from the big speculators, considerable number of fans exercise caution on social networks, particularly due to past experiences that have led to disillusionment.

Big surprises, such as a Gen 10 reveal, presumably still require patience. And now for a little philosophy to end the article on: those who expect little are rarely disappointed. Sometimes they're even surprised.
