Due to the terrible commercial performance of Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game, the studio has been forced to scale down.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League... And Rocksteady

In an interview with Eurogamer, an internal source revealed massive layoffs at Rocksteady. The game had a terrible start with poor reviews and an all-time concurrent player peak of just 13,459.

Sadly, the developers are now feeling the effects. Reportedly, the QA department has been reduced from 33 team members to just 15. But it was not only the QA department that got this treatment.

The informant also told of another employee who was fired while on paternity leave. And it wasn't just newer members of staff; Rocksteady also apparently fired workers who had been with the union for more than five years.

Of course the publishers, Warner Bros., are big enough to weather the storm, but they'll be eager for a strong release after this flop.

What do you think killed the game? Rocksteady's GaaS approach, or something else?
