Prince of Persia team shifted to Rayman Remake

Ubisoft has announced a mix of good and bad news. Despite positive reception to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a sequel pitch has been rejected. At the same time, the team working on the game has been reassigned to other projects, including a Rayman remake.

As reported by Insider Gaming, the remake, under the codename "Project Steambot," will be developed primarily by Ubisoft Milan, a studio that has worked on over 20 Ubisoft titles in the past two decades.

It's also been confirmed that Michel Ancel, the creator of Rayman, will serve as a consultant for the team, despite past accusations of him being a "toxic leader" in 2020.

Around 12 developers from the disbanded Prince of Persia team have joined the Rayman remake project. While other members are now working on Beyond Good & Evil 2 and the next Ghost Recon title.

What are your thoughts on this development? Would you prefer another Prince of Persia game, or are you more excited about a Rayman remake?
