Our picks for this weekend both have a reputation to be weird and unpredictable... Maybe it's the weirdness factor that makes games so incredibly good...
Our Weekend's Finest: Death Stranding 2

If you’re in the mood for something slow-paced and story-rich game that's unlike anything else out there, Death Stranding 2 might be your pick this weekend.
The core gameplay still revolves around delivery and traversal, but this time it comes with deeper combat, new terrain, and a story that's packed with some wild and significant twists, especially in the second half.
It seems like Kojima really took the critique of the first game to heart, especially the parts that felt too monotone or repetitive. This time, he delivered something that genuinely feels like a natural evolution, yet still manages to feel new. By the way, if you haven’t played the first game, DS2 offers a recap of the story so you don't feel lost.
We don't have to talk about how absolutely STUNNING the visuals are in the sequel. I think we've all seen videos of these incredible landscapes, not to speak of the hyper-realistic graphics. While watching the trailer, I was seriously questioning if I'm looking at real-world-footage or a video game.
DS2 has some of the most well-developed characters in gaming right now. The game is often described as weird and thought-provoking, so if you like narrative-heavy adventures and meditative exploration, this is a weekend well spent.
"If you want something that breaks the mold and shows what games can be, this is it. Kojima cooked" ~ Player review

The Weekend's Finest Hidden Gem: Blue Prince

Blue Prince is one of those games that’s hard to explain but easy to get hooked on. You’re exploring a strange mansion, trying to find Room 46 before you run out of steps. Every run is a little different, and the way the rooms connect slowly starts to make sense... until it doesn’t, in a good way.
It’s a mix of puzzle and mystery with some light horror vibes and a really cool, minimalist look. Some puzzles are tough... like “stare at your screen and rethink your life” tough. But figuring them out is super satisfying. If you’re into games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s worth a try.
Think The Stanley Parable meets Portal. It's weird in all the right ways, full of puzzles that mess with your head, and just when you think you’ve figured it out, it throws you off again.
By the way... According to Metacritic, Blue Prince is the second-highest rated game of 2025, right after Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which we featured in our last issue ;)
And that's all for this week! Thank you for reading The Weekend's Finest Games and come back next Friday for more! Also let us know what games YOU think are worthy to be EarlyGame's Weekend's Finest for our next issue!
