This year seems to have some issues. There were games being released that were so overwhelmed by fans that the servers couldn't handle it. Well, games like Helldivers 2 and Palworld had more than good reasons for this, as they generated such a huge hype that there were simply way more players than expected. On the other hand, Star Wars Battlefront is facing far more issues that leave angry fans.

The Launch Of The Battlefront Collection Was A Complete Disaster

It could have been so beautiful. Aspyr, the devs behind Battlefront, had already successfully released the remastered version of Tomb Raider 1-3 earlier this year, which delighted many fans. The Battlefront Collection was supposed to follow on March 14 for $34.99, but the launch was a complete disaster, resulting in a slew of negative initial reviews.

It didn't take long for a major issue with the collection to become apparent to everyone: the servers. But we're not talking about server overload issues like what happened during the launch of Helldivers 2.

Players complained that there were only 3 servers, each with 64 slots available. With a player count of over 10,000 people, these servers were obviously insufficient. Since Battlefront is primarily a multiplayer title, players felt scammed.

The servers were eventually expanded, but the problems didn't end there. Due to game-breaking bugs and stuttering, the collection ended up on the refund list for many players, some of whom couldn't even join matches.

For most players, this collection isn't worth the $35 price tag, especially considering that the game's download size is a massive 63 GB. For comparison, the original versions of both games included in the collection only require a total of 12.4 GB. Fans are now asking: What's taking up all that space if the games are much worse than the originals?

Hopefully, Aspyr doesn't leave it at that and releases a few more patches, because in its current state, the Battlefront Collection is likely to die out faster than Leroy Jenkins did in the rookery.
