You have probably heard about the viral "This is fine" meme already, with a dog sitting at a table, drinking his coffee while the world around him is burning. "This is fine," he says. Don’t we all feel like that sometimes?

Andris Gauracs obviously felt seen as well as inspired and decided to create a video game based on the cartoon dog.

Where The Meme Comes From

The illustrations were originally created by the cartoonist KC Green.

Although the meme is used in an entertaining and more funny way, there is actually a deeper meaning behind it. In an interview, Green said that he had to learn to live with the chaos that is life. Questions about dealing with mental health and about his personality were on his mind back then.

"There was a lot happening. It just felt like I was just ignoring the bigger picture, which is eventually just how you sort of live life. That is just normal for everyone to some degree." – Green

Also, the actual comic does not end with "This is fine." It actually goes on with "I’m okay with the events that are unfolding currently." As the dog's arm catches fire, he says "That’s okay. Things are going to be okay."

This Game Is Fine

The game was developed by Andris Gauracs and was inspired by the mentioned meme. You can download the mobile game This is fine: The Game from the App store or the Play store for free.

If you are interested in how the game was created, you can watch Gauracs YouTube video here.

The goal in this game is to put out the fires around the dog's house. Of course, you use coffee to do so.

You can choose between four levels of difficulty. With a higher level, you have less time to put out the fires, less lives to lose, and new fires appear quicker. While the controls take some getting used to, the game is still visually appealing and a fun casual game for in between.

Make sure not to get stuck between two fires and a wall though, you won’t make it out alive.
