In World of Warcraft, the Burning Legion has been considered defeated since the end of the Legion expansion.

Sargeras is in custody, the army shattered, and demons have rarely been part of the story lately. But now, new signs are emerging that this enemy isn’t entirely gone.

A Novel Gives The First Clues

The upcoming book Blood Ties by Christie Golden focuses on Alleria, Turalyon, and their son Arator.

The three investigate strange occurrences around an old Burning Legion base – and come across a demon who was once a lieutenant of the Legion.

According to the book’s description, he apparently has no intention of quietly disappearing, but aims to target Azeroth once again.

Is This The Beginning Of Something Bigger?

Whether this storyline will impact the game itself remains unclear.

It’s conceivable that Blizzard is laying the groundwork for future expansions – for example, Midnight, which is set to release later this year.

One thing is certain: the Legion is not completely gone. And it could play a role again.

Community Reaction Is Divided

Discussions are already heating up on Reddit and the official forums: some are excited about the return of a familiar enemy – others hope Blizzard will be bolder and bring new, unknown threats into the spotlight. Either way, the interest is definitely there.

What about you? Do you want the Legion back – or are you done with demons and hellfire?
