Xbox deny rumors that they were planning to pull out of Saudi Arabia

Contrary to rumors from earlier this week, Xbox have made an official statement claiming that they will not be pulling out of the Saudi Arabian market.

Earlier this week, rumors began to spread that Microsoft wanted Xbox to pull out of the MENA region, specifically Saudi Arabia. The gossip originated from a Saudi video game journalist who claimed that "Microsoft has officially informed major stores in Saudi Arabia that it will stop selling Xbox devices in Saudi Arabia"

Now, Microsoft have officially responded, denying the rumors. We don't yet know whether this is damage control or whether they genuinely want to stay in the region.

Xbox apparently does want to stay in Saudi Arabia

Speaking to Windows Central, Ami Silverman, Xbox Chief Consumer Sales Officer, denied rumors that Xbox will leave Saudi Arabia:

Xbox devices are available in all current Xbox hardware-supported countries, including Saudi Arabia. Console availability may vary by country but Xbox games can be played on consoles, PCs, and on phones, tablets or TVs where Xbox Cloud Gaming is available.

Now, as you can probably tell, the language Silverman used is fairly noncommittal. She doesn't mention the future of Xbox, which might change considerably if Cloud gaming becomes as important to Xbox as the leaked presentation from the 2023 FTC trial suggested.

But for now, at least, we can rest assure that Xbox will remain in Saudi Arabia.
