41 year old Japanese YouTuber unrecognizable after 3 year transformation, thanks to Saitama's workout.
Many people love Saitama from One Punch Man, few of them cosplay him, and even less try to be like him. That is exactly what Japanese Youtuber Tasuke did for the last three years.
He went on to tackle the challenge of One Punch Man workout routine. This includes 100 push–ups, 100 squats, 100 sit–ups and a 10 km run... every day, for three years, no breaks. In addition, he set up five personal challenges for the period:
- Complete the routine for 3 years straight without missing a day
- Completing a full marathon within four hours
- Complete a 100 km ultramarathon
- Complete the roughly 200 km Lake Biwa circumnavigation
- Drop his weight to 62 kg without losing his muscle mass
Starting the challenge at 41 years old he looked like an average middle–aged man, dad bod, unathletic and tired eyes.
He began the challenge on April 21, 2023, kicking off at 74,7kg (165 lbs). During the challenge many obstacles got in his way, torn toenails, car and bike accidents and illness.
In 2025 he caught COVID, but instead of resting, he stuck to the strength training and just walked 10 km indoors. Not even Mother Nature could stop him. During the winter he ran through snowy neighborhoods, and rain was just another factor that boosted his resilience.
Tasuke didn't make any excuse. He hit flow-state and managed to push through, strengthening not only his body, but also his mind.
1,096 days, over 16,000 km (10,000 miles) and 109,600 reps later on April 20, 2026, Tasuke was unrecognizable. He lost about 12 kg (26 lbs), visible abs, swollen chest and superhero–like endurance.
Nevertheless, he did not become bald, like the anime character did. As a joke, Tasuke told his followers, not to tell him to redo the challenge, just because he did not lose his hair.
His extreme effort and relentless dedication was noticed by many on social media. Even the creator of the show that inspired his three year transformation journey reached out to him:
On X, One Punch Man producer ONE, reposted Tasuke's upload writing: "Someone recreated it again... that's amazing... I mean, thank you." Expressing his deep gratitude and recognition.
He may have stopped doing Saitama's workout routine, but that does not stop him from using his self–developed "superpowers".
At the end of three–year span he also completed the Lake Biwa ultramarathon. He managed to complete the roughly 206 km course in 27 hours, 42 minutes and five seconds.
Tasuke showed that age doesn't matter and that with strong willpower and discipline it is possible to master the hardest challenges and reach your personal goals.
