Most people who like to game have had this thought at least once in their life: "As soon as I retire I will finally have so much time to game." This 91-year-old Chinese man made this dream many have into his reality – retiring from his job only started this new career and passion.

The Oldest Male Streamer In The World

According to NEXTA, Chinese streamer Yang Binglin only started gaming when he retired from his job as an engineer in 1996 and then made this new hobby into a new career. The man who received the nickname Game Grandpa even made it into the Guinness Book of World Records a few years ago as the oldest male streamer in the world at the age of 88.

In the article with the Guinness World Records, the man explained that his days have all pretty much looked the same ever since he retired: breakfast, table tennis, getting groceries and a small nap before he finally gets to game around 3pm every day. It's the schedule a lot of younger gamers wish they could have.

He streams himself comfortably gaming from what looks like his living room, and recently gained a lot of attention for finishing Resident Evil: Requiem, the newest game in the horror game franchise. But not only did he finish playing the game: He finished it completely without a playthrough guiding him through the story, all by himself while taking notes on the game.

Big Inspiration In The Gaming World

Not only did Yang Binglin apparently do himself a favor by starting to play video games – a lot of people online feel very inspired by him and his story. And that seemed to be exactly why he even applied to be the record holder for oldest male streamer in the world. The official article states that he "wanted to showcase that senior citizens can also contribute to and understand the world of gaming, challenging stereotypes about age and gaming."

It's a story about how it's never too late and you're never "too old" to do something, and about how maybe the future does look bright after all. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
