LuLu LoveBottom, the OnlyFans creator and burlesque performer whose legal name was Lucas Drake, died on September 7 at 31. His final Instagram post included the words “Goodbye forever,” but the circumstances of his death have not been officially established.
Los Angeles police told PEOPLE that officers responded to a death investigation that morning and did not register the case as suspicious. The outlet’s September 10 follow-up reported that medical examiner records still showed no determined cause of death. That distinction matters: a farewell post does not establish a cause, and suicide has not been officially confirmed.
The Performer Behind LuLu LoveBottom
Before burlesque, Drake’s life revolved around sport. In an April 2025 interview with Queerty, he described a childhood spent playing football, followed by competitive rowing in high school. Performing for an audience had once seemed daunting; he was nervous even about speaking into a microphone.
A ballroom event in the Phoenix area changed that. Encouraged by a friend, he entered a competition and finished second. The confidence he found onstage surprised him, and the discipline of athletic training translated naturally into rehearsing and dancing.
His performances could swing from pink glamour to gothic fantasy, mixing an athletic build with deliberately feminine styling. He described burlesque to Queerty as “a love letter to Lucas,” a way to give his younger self room for expression.
He also had a practical answer to the mystery of dancing in towering heels: walking on his toes came naturally. He recalled finishing a Barbie-inspired routine after a platform heel broke during a pirouette. The shoe had given up; he kept going.
Friends Remember the Person Offstage
Following Drake’s death, his roommate and close friend Michael Aquino shared a tribute on Instagram, reported by PEOPLE. He remembered someone generous with affection who had helped him discover a brighter side of himself.
Aquino also recalled sitting with Drake and his husband shortly before the death, offering reassurance and reminding him that they were his family. It is a small, personal memory amid the attention surrounding Drake’s last post: friends together at home, telling someone they loved that he belonged.
