Both Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively will officially return to reprise their roles as Stephanie and Emily after the surprising announcement of A Simple Favor 2.
The first movie came out back in 2018 and tells the story of vlogger and single mother Stephanie and her short-lived friendship with Emily and the flat-out bonkers series of psychopathic events that stem from the two of them meeting.

Originally, the movie had quite the conclusive ending that didn't really need a sequel. But who in their right mind would turn their backs on Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively reuniting on screen? Certainly not me! Here's everything we know about A Simple Favor 2.
A Simple Favor 2: Kendrick and Lively Are Reunited
As announced by Prime Video, A Simple Favor 2 is in the works and most of the main cast return to the project. Not only lead actresses Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively reprise their roles, but also Henry Golding (Emily's husband Sean Townsend) and Andrew Rannells (Stephanie's friend Darren).
Ian Ho returns as little Nicky with his buddy Joshua Satine as Miles, Bashir Salahuddin is back as Detective Summerville and Kelly McCormack will portray Stacy in the upcoming sequel. Jessica Sharzer and Paul Feig are back on board, as well as screenplay writer and director, respectively.
How exactly all of this will turn out remains to be seen – the movie did end with all loose ends tied up, after all.

What Could A Simple Favor 2 Be About?
To refresh your memory: at the end of A Simple Favor, we've got the infamous livestreaming scene where Emily gets busted after her villain monologue.
After being hit by Darren's car, she gets arrested and sentenced to 20 years in prison (but at least, she gets to play basketball behind bars...) and Stephanie has moved on to have a successful vlog that's being turned into a TV show. Also, she continues her newfound passion for private detective work. Sean's got things going for him as well, but with neither Stephanie nor Emily by his side.
That's pretty conclusive, isn't it? Maybe it's best not to underestimate Emily, though. She has shown her cunning time and time again, so while details are being kept under wraps for the time being, is it really that far-fetched to speculate that she isn't planning of actually spending 20 years in prison?
And, let's not forget: it is A Simple Favor. The first movie was already pretty over the top, so there's no way to be sure which shenanigans the writers will come up with, especially without another book as source material to draw inspiration from.
