Comedian Matt Rife has asked J. K. Rowling if he can act in the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series.
Ever since HBO announced their upcoming Harry Potter show, the internet has gone wild with rumors and predictions of the cast.
Just a few days ago, an official casting call was posted by HBO, looking for children between the ages of 9 and 11, to potentially play the characters Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
Now that it is clear the showrunners are looking for actors, everybody wants to be a part of the show.

A multitude of famous people have reacted to the tweet, but one of the more interesting replies was made by famous comedian, Matt Rife.
He asked Rowling whether he could play “He Who Shall Not Be Named”.
If you're not familiar with the source material, he is referring to Tom Riddle, also known as Lord Voldemort.
Can i play He Who Shall Not Be Named

Although I think he was joking, fans have started arguing about whether he could make this role work, if he was cast.
While many are saying that Matt Rife could pull off a young Tom Riddle, others don't believe in him as much.
One user summarized the latter opinion pretty well:
Bro you’d be a solid sorting hat
So regardless whether he was joking or not, if he really wants to audition, nothing's stopping him. Except for his fully booked world tour that will last till the end of 2024, maybe.
What do you think? Would you like to see Matt Rife as a Harry Potter character?
