The horror movie Anaconda was released back in 1997 and starred A-list celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Owen Wilson, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz and Jonathan Hyde.

In the 1997 film, a group of filmmakers set out to make a documentary about a tribe in the Amazon, but along the way they come across a massive anaconda. Of course, things get out of hand, and the anaconda starts slaughtering them.

The movie was destroyed by critics, but it became a cult classic, and now it will get a remake.

Anaconda – Starring Jack Black & Paul Rudd?

As stated by THR, Jack Black and Paul Rudd are rumored to star in the upcoming Anaconda remake. The film will be a reimagining of the 1997 classic.

Excitingly, the director of the remake, will be none other than Tom Gormican, who is known for working on The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, with Pedro Pascal and Nicolas Cage.

Additionally, he will also co-write the project.

The remake will be about:

A group of friends facing mid-life crises who are remaking their favorite movie from their youth. They head to the rainforest only to find themselves in a fight for their lives against natural disasters, giant snakes and violent criminals.

Since the first movie was packed with funny moments (most of them unintentional), its no surprise that Jack Black and Paul Rudd would be involved.

Let's just hope that these rumors will be confirmed soon!
