Yes folks, the next Call of Duty game is Modern Warfare 2. What a big surprise. Of course everyone knew this already, but now it's official, since developer Infinity Ward revealed the logo of Modern Warfare 2! Yes, it's pretty much what you expected. But don't click away yet! There's more to this, I promise...
MW2 Will Start "A New Era of Call of Duty"
Infinity Ward have officially announced Modern Warfare 2, the next mainline Call of Duty game, by revealing the logo. That's not everything they showed though. With the announcement, they also posted a short animated video, which you can check out here:

The video features the iconic green color coding of the original Modern Warfare games and the 2019 reboot. You can also hear some indistinct talking and see some assets. I'm sure there are tons of clues hidden here and avid fans will read all kinds of things into that in the coming days.#
There hasn't been any other announcement, that came along with the logo reveal. No release date, no info on setting or story, nada. Just one ambitious promise:
The new era of Call of Duty is coming.
What exactly that means, is unclear. A lot of people are excited for Modern Warfare 2, and understandably so. With Modern Warfare 2019, Infinity Ward have made one of the best Call of Duty titles ever. And from what we know of the next one, it could potentially live up to that high watermark.
