The partnership between EA Sports and the Spanish LaLiga, also known as Primera División, is official. Starting from the 2023/24 season, the FIFA publisher will be the official sponsor of the 1st and 2nd league, the league will then be renamed to LaLiga EA Sports FC.
Before the release of FIFA 23, EA Sports has made big announcements for the near future. Right at the start of their new product EA Sports FC, which will replace the FIFA series in 2023, the FIFA publisher will also give its name to the Spanish top leagues.
Starting from the 2023/24 season, both the 1st and 2nd leagues in Spain then contain the name EA. Up until this year, LaLiga has worked with Spanish bank Santander, previously with the credit institution BBVA. The league will then be called LaLiga EA Sports FC. A coup for EA, as they continue their operations without the expensive cooperation with the world football association FIFA, and instead invest the money they saved in marketing. And plenty of it. For Spain's elite football, the whole thing will offer a significant improvement financially.

EA Pays 40 Million Euros A Year To Spain's LaLiga
Santander brought about 20 million euros a year into the wallet of the league. EA apparently doubles this sum. The journalist Pedro Morata (who works for Marca, among others) reports on a five-year deal with a total volume of around 200 million euros. EA would therefore pay around 40 million euros per year to appear as namesake.
In addition, the publisher of the world's most successful football simulation wants to continue to merge real and virtual football – how exactly is not known yet. Further cooperations between football clubs and their esport departments with the Spanish leagues are conceivable.
The procedure is not new territory for EA. In the future, EA Sports will also be the title sponsor and partner of the Supercoppa Italiana, which will be renamed EA Sports Supercup from the 2022/23 season.
