Yes, you read that right, to be able to play Alan Wake 2 with Ray Tracing on medium settings you need to have at least a GeForce RTX 4070. If you want to experience the game in its full glory, you even need a 4080, which is one of the best and most expensive graphics cards on the marked right now. No wonder that players are concerned.
Not only PC players are mad that they might have to upgrade their actually high-end PCs, but also console players are scared the game might not be optimized to run smoothly – after all, even a PS5 or Xbox Series X can't keep up with a high-end gaming PC.

The big question now is, are the PC system requirements that high, because the game just looks that amazing, or are they that high because the game isn't properly optimized? After all, Alan Wake 2 would not be the first game in 2023 that needed a lot of optimizing after release.

Let's just hope Alan Wake 2 won't be another big disappointment on PC and is actually playable on release. I personally am really looking forward to it, since I loved playing the first game and really want to know what Remedy has in store for us this time.
