Larian Studios is experiencing great success with the release of Baldur's Gate 3. It has achieved impressive results on Steam Charts, becoming the second-biggest PC launch of 2023 and reaching a top 3 spot for peak players. However, there is a downside to this otherwise fantastic release.

Unfortunately, some players have encountered a save bug called "Game is currently synching," preventing them from saving their progress. As a result, some players had to start over from the beginning after being defeated, losing all their progress.

The good news is that Larian is aware of the issue and has provided a temporary fix to address this problem. Players on the Baldur's Gate 3 subreddit forum have confirmed that the fix is working!

Baldur's Gate 3: How To Fix Game Is Currently Synching Issue

Until a proper fix is offered by Larian Studios, you need to turn off the highly requested cloud save feature for the game. Just follow this small steps:

  • Turn off the cloud sync to Baldur’s Gate 3 (right-click the game in Steam > click properties > general > steam cloud > tick off)
  • Remove the folder “C:\Users\myUser\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3”
  • Start the game and do not enable the cloud sync
