Battlefield: 1943, Bad Company™ 1 And 2 Are To Be Removed From Digital Stores

DICE announced, that Battlefield 1943, Battlefield: Bad Company and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be removed from all digital stores on April 28.

Related to this decision is the upcoming shutdown of the online servers of all the above-mentioned games, which will take place on December 8. Single player modes will still be available after that day in the first and second parts of Battlefield: Bad Company™. As Battlefield 1943 offers multiplayer mode only, this actually means the complete extinction of this game.

Per DICE and Battlefield Teams:

While these titles hold a special place in our heart, we’re now looking forward to creating new memories alongside you as we shift our focus towards our current and future Battlefield experiences.

And the plans for the series the devs have in mind include the latest Battlefield 2042 – the 4th season is currently underway, which introduced various new features to the game. The next season is also expected to surprise us. In addition, we know that another part of the Battlefield series with a single player campaign is coming, with as many as two teams working on it.

So we hope that EA will compensate us in some way for their decision.
