Rockstar Games just dropped the trailer for the Remastered version of the “Trilogy”. What have they done to improve on the graphics of the game and is it as bad as we feared at one point when we heard the news of ‘nothing being changed’?

Well, let’s take a look at the trailer to see whether we have reason to worry for the release of the remastered versions of three classic GTA games, Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas.

What Improvements Are Made in the Graphics?

The remastered games of the trilogy will run with the unreal engine. Thanks to that the game graphics have also been improved quite a bit. Sure, the games will still hold true to the classic, but the characters aren’t as blocky and the colors are improved.

Here is a list of all changes we saw in the trailer:

  • Water and weather effects are greatly improved
  • Reworked shadows and lighting
  • New HD textures for cars, weapons and buildings
  • Improvements in the environment through reflections and smoothing out textures
  • Improved character models

If you don’t want to take our word for it, just watch the GTA San Andreas trailer below and you’ll be amazed at the changes visible in the remastered version:

Other Added Improvements to the Remastered GTA Trilogy

More than the graphic, you’ll also have a few other extras that will make the GTA experience a little more special. There are a few added advancements added into the remastered version of the games to bring them into the 2020s.

  • Updated weapon and radio choices
  • Reworked minimap
  • GTA 5 style controls and aiming mechanics
  • Failed missions can be updated again right away

So there you have it folks. There are multiple improvements for the games, but these do not take away from the original GTA either. The games are still going to play like the original GTA games you loved when you were younger.

When Will the GTA Remastered Trilogy be Released?

The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition collection will be released digitally on November 11, 2021. The physical release is set a month later for December 7, 2021. The remastered game should cost around $59.99. Is it worth it for you? Let us know on Discord!
