The MMORPG of the South Korean studio NCSoft (in the west, published by Amazon) will launch on October, 1 and will be free to play. The twist is that this RPG won't have classes, but you can choose two weapons that will define your play style. From the developers of the Persona series comes a brand-new adventure set in a fantasy setting. The trailer was awesome, and revealed a game that looked well on its way to being a strong release. 9. Ys X: Noridcs (October 25, 2024)
One of the longest RPG franchises in gaming, which started in the mid-80s, will get a tenth game on October 25 (well, in the West; it has already been released in Japan). Ys X will have a dual combat system that will allow you to switch between your heroes in the middle of the fight and will tell the story of the main protagonist of the series, Adol Christin. 7. Dragon Age: The Veilguard (October 31, 2024)
The highly anticipated fourth part of the Dragon Age series is set to release in late October. Although Bioware has had a rough few years recently, we are still very optimistic about the next Dragon Age. | © Bioware
5. Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood (November 7, 2024)
The remakes of Mario RPG and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door showed that we still want more Mario RPGs (big surprise). Now, the Mario and Luigi series is getting a brand-new entry. 6. Dragon Quest III HD - 2D Remake (November 14, 2024)
For many, this is the best Dragon Quest ever made, and the remake will be launched later this year. A nice chance to catch up with an RPG classic. | © Square Enix
4. Path of Exile 2 [Early Access] (November 15, 2024)
PoE 2, the "Diablo-killer", will go into early access later this year. Fans will be able to dive into brand-new skill trees with a ridiculous amount of options. A nice way to spend thousands of hours. | © Grinding Gear Games
3. Gothic Remake (Late-2024)
Another cult classic is getting a remake. We don't know exactly when it'll be released, but there's a lot of excitement about seeing the famous Mining Valley again (or for the first time). 2. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (Update: February 11, 2025)
When we wrote this article, the game was set to come out in 2024, but it has now been pushed back to February. We are being a bit cheeky, but we want to keep this RPG in the gallery because we're convinced it's going to be incredible (and it's coming only six weeks into 2025).
