It Takes Two Film Adaptation

Hazelight Studios has partnered with dj2 Entertainment to bring this hit game to the big screen. This won’t be the first time dj2 bring video games to the silver screen. The company has worked on titles such as the Sonic Movie, as well as helped with the Netflix adaptation of Tomb Raider.

Josef Fares, Hazelight founder and creative director, told Variety that It Takes Two “has a strong narrative with many crazy characters and just as crazy co-op action moments, the potential is huge for a great adaption to film or television.”

Which Studio is Producing the It Takes Two Film?

According to sources from Variety, no studio or network is currently associated with this project. Instead, there is bidding war going on to see who gets to handle the property. Though they do report that two writers are already on the project.

Pat Casey and Josh Miller wrote the script for Sonic the Hedgehog and will be working on the story for It Takes Two as well.

What is It Takes Two About?

It Takes Two is a co-op game that has to be played by two players. Unlike most other games which also have a solo mode, this is a game that can only be played in pairs. The story revolves around Cody and May who are a couple ready to divorce.

Their young daughter takes her two dolls that look an awful lot like her parents into the shed in the back to try and repair their broken marriage. The plot thickens though when the parents find themselves trapped within these dolls. How will they ever make it to their own bodies?

When Can We Expect the It Takes Two Film?

There is no official release information yet. With no network or studio backing and only writers, this film has not even entered it’s full planning stage. This could be a project for another year or two before it is released.

Which actors would you love to see in this film though? Another voice over role for Chris Pratt? Maybe someone else like The Rock? The options are endless.
