Naughty Dog is one of the finest game developers out there. Seriously, if your resume is Jak and Daxter, Uncharted and The Last of Us... you're upper echelon legendary tier. We recently reported that Naughty Dog removed its Uncharted mobile game - a surprising move, which we assumed was to free up production for Uncharted 5. Now, it seems that the reason lies entirely elsewhere: Yes, Naughty Dog is freeing up manpower, but it's not for Uncharted 5, and it's not The Last of Us (though that game's multiplayer standalone is also in development). Instead, it seems that Naughty Dog is working on an entirely new IP.
Naughty Dog Is Working On New Fantasy IP
You really need to get your pinches of salt for this one - this is a leak and not anything that's even remotely close to being officially confirmed.
The rumor was first leaked by Oops Leaks and has since been picked up by Reddit. Word is that this new fantasy IP will be a single-player title, and that Neil Druckmann is not involved. The game is in full production and all we know is that it will have a fantasy setting. Is it a new Jak and Daxter, or is it the Marvel game that is rumored to be in production at Naughty Dog? This could go in any direction, but one direction is clear: Any new game from Naughty Dog will become one of gaming's biggest franchises.
