The new Overwatch 2 Halloween PvE mode, called Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride, is incredibly well done. It is spooky, exiting and has a fantastic co-op dynamic. If you played it before, you must have recognized familiar opponents that you had to encounter. But while you were so immersed in the game, there were probably some things that you have missed. The castle town, Adlersbrunn, holds more secrets than you might expect.

Overwatch 2 New Halloween PvE Mode Easter Eggs

The thrilling new PvE Mode is a four-player co-op mission, where players have to solve small riddles and compete against familiar spooky characters. All in all, it is very well done and actually quite scary. As you might get one or two jump scares, this game mode is nothing for chickenhearted folks.

Speaking Dog Portrait

Okay, this one is especially cute. A really good boy... ehhh... Easter egg. So, you can find this dog's portrait in the castle after the second location and if you talk to him through the game commands, he makes individual dog sounds, depending on what you said. Isn't that just adorable? Honestly, I wouldn't mind if the picture started moving, like in Harry Potter. But let's talk for real now, Blizzard needs to give us more puppy content, I am sure we can all agree on that!

Bloodborne References

Yes you read it right, what would be more fitting for a Halloween PvE mode than a reference to this masterpiece of creepy games. I love it. In previous years, the bonfire from Dark Souls was in the exact same spot on the map. Now they've replaced it with a lamp from Bloodborne.

But, that's not everything! Apparently, there is another reference to Bloodborne. At some point after the Winston Fight, your team gets trapped in a nightmare-like room with Echo, who appears out of nowhere and then suddenly becomes invisible again. The fight against her has a lot of similarities with the Micolash Fight from Bloodborne, where the player is trapped in a similar room and has to defeat the boss in order to get out.
