Paradox keeps on giving these days. First they announce Star Trek: Infinite and Cities: Skylines 2, release new add-ons and expansions for Hearts of Iron 4 and Stellaris, and now they announce the next release date for a new game. So let's take a look at "The Lamplighters League", the newest Paradox title. Everything you need to know can be found below.
The Lamplighters League
In a freshly dropped trailer, Paradox announced, that their new game The Lamplighters League will be released on October the 3. Paradox promises a game with a mixture of real-time infiltration, turn-based tactical combat and a character driven adventure story.
Strategy meets story - sounds good, right? In the game, your group of "Agents" will fight enemies, belonging to the "Banished Court", to manage a global campaign against the rise of evil. Everybody who liked the XCOM series should take a look at this game. The game is set in an environment, which looks like the early-1930s, so think kind of Indiana Jones meets XCOM.
The Characters
Also, they already introduced some characters of the game, that can or will be part of your team. As the publisher stated, these guys will be "the best of the worst" The player has to pick the right Agents for the missions, all of them offer different abilities and perks. Also, they have different difficulties to operate with them.

Starting Agents:
- Nocturne -" A macabre spectrophysicist marooned in an alternate dimension." His role is called "Saboteur"/ Nocturne, is only available in the DELUXE Edition!
- Eddie -"A Great War veteran-turned-bank-robber with a knack for evening the odds." / He is also an Infiltrator and handles two revolvers, that offer a lot of firepower for your team
- Ingrid - "A femme fatale with a mysterious past and a deadly right hook." / She is a skilled brawler and excels against groups of enemies. Her role is that of a "Bruiser"
- Lateef - "A.K.A. The Gentleman-Djinn, a young master thief with the skills to match his boasts." / His role is just called "Sneak" and he's able to dodge enemy fire and works a decoy.
Recruitable Agents:
- Alexandrite - "A decadent Bohemian scholar who weaves magic with the skill of an artist"./ His role is also that of a saboteur, and he handles magic tricks to support your team.
- Judith - "A genius engineer with a shield of advanced design and a score to settle." / She's a bruiser, who can protect and tank for your team.
- Fedir - "A grizzled mob enforcer with the strength of an ox and a violent disposition." / He's also a bruiser, and attacks only fuel his rage.
- Purnima - "A disarmingly cheerful sniper from a society of elite assassins." / she can sneak as well and takes out enemies over a long range.
- Jianyi - "A dangerous warrior and traitor to the order who trained him." / He can fight in melee and range situations with sword and pistol, and is also a "sneak"
- Celestine - "A bloody-handed spy who channels dark powers to fight the Banished Court."/ She uses Mesmerism to force enemies to fight on her behalf...truly magical.
- Ana Sofia - "A mystic healer who broke her vow of pacifism to fight the Banished Court." / She can operate as a Healer for your team and inspires the group members.
Release Date And Platforms
The Lamplighters League is set to be released on the 3rd of October and will be playable on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Right now, there are two different editions of the game - the normal base game and the "The Lamplighters League-Deluxe Edition".
It can get preordered on Steam, the Xbox store and Epic Games Store.
