Playing your favorite childhood games as an adult, can be so wholesome and nostalgic, especially when they look and feel even better than you remembered them! But sometimes, a hardware upgrade does not automatically mean a better quality game …

It's a pretty common practice to remaster older and really successful games, in order to give them a second chance in life. Most of the time, a much better game quality can be achieved by that, since the newer hardware provides so many opportunities for improvement.

The Sonic Origins remastered game collection is a perfect example of a well done adaptation of the older Sonic games! However, the newest additions to said collection did have a problem regarding its sound…

Sonic Origins Plus: Fans Are Already Outraged Before Release

In the basic version of the Sonic Origins pack, are a total of four games included:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992)
  • Sonic CD (1993)
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles (1994)

These four classics were also exceptionally well received by the community. Among other things, this is why Sega has probably decided to add even more games to the series in this pack, which is now called: Sonic Origins Plus!

Sonic Origins Plus

The Sonic Origins Plus bundle is available on June 23, 2023. You can get some more information on the pack right here on the official Sega website!

  • If you feel like Sonic Origins Plus could be your pre-bedtime game, then preorder it right here! Remember to select the console of your choice before ordering it!

However, you should be a little careful ordering it instantly, since there seem to be some audio issues, which drive some players absolutely crazy!

A bunch of players, noticed a certain issue with the audio of the newly added games, after watching the early footage, which Sega shared on various Social media accounts. These seem to occur, because the original audio from the Game Gear was in mono mode, however Sega appears to have put the audio in stereo mode for the remastered version.

This makes the sound pretty weird and much more harsh sounding than it was for the older version. Some players even describe it as “painful” or even “unenjoyable”.

This is quite sad to hear since the Plus version has so many cool new features included. In total, there will be 12 new games from the Game Gear series added to said collection. In addition to that, you will be able to play Knuckles in Sonic CD.

And even Amy Rose is making her great comeback! She will be a playable character in all four games of the standard version, which is so cool if you ask me!

Hopefully, SEGA will fix this issue as soon as possible, so players can enjoy their nostalgia with a much nicer audio experience! Let's hope for the best for its release date …
