Starfield provides many different things to do as you explore space. Building up a relationship with special someone, hunting down some monsters or building an outpost are just some things you can do in the game.

If building an outpost is your thing, you'll eventually need to look for different materials, and Tungsten is one of the rarer ones. However, it remains crucial for your outpost because you require it for various machines, such as constructing heavy mining equipment, for instance.

Here is where you find the resource!

In order to get your hands on the rare material, you have different ways of pulling this off. Some of those options aren't really suited for the early game, but still worthwhile nevertheless. Here are your top ways to obtain Tungsten:

  • Build an Outpost on a planet with extreme environments – For this endeavor you need desperately the skill "Planetary Habitation" from the Science skill tree.
  • Find celestial bodies with Tungsten in extreme environments – There are many planets in the system filled with various resources, especially Tungsten. Here are our top picks:
    • Moon Voss in the Alpha Centauri system
    • Planet Bondar in the Alpha Centaur system
    • Moon Titan of Jupiter in the Sol system
    • Planet Pluto in the Sol system
  • Buy Tungsten from your local vendors or Trade Authorities – Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis), UC Exchange (Cydonia), Mining League (Neon).
  • Use cheat codes through the console command on PC – Press "`" key and use the ID code 0000556B 20 to give yourself 20 Tungsten. If you want to provide yourself even more, switch out the last digits. For 50 more Tungsten, the code would look like this: 0000556B 50.

But it's worth mentioning: If you start using the console commands in Starfield you'll disable the achievements in the game. So, if you're an achievement-hunter, using cheats isn't the best option for you, sadly.
