Alright, so The Finals is kind of the first original shooter in years. Seriously, if you've grown tired of the copy-paste, rinse-and-repeat formula that Battlefield and Call of Duty have been on for the last decade, then the breath of fresh air that is The Finals will make you very happy.
What Is The Finals?
The Finals is an upcoming free-to-play shooter that is releasing for the PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S. Yes, that means The Finals is a true next-gen shooter (if we can still call it next-gen at this point). What makes The Finals so special is that every map is entirely destructible.
Seriously, this game has next-level destructible environments, and said destruction comes in beautiful, beautiful detail. How beautiful? Well, you can click this link to see some leaked gameplay, which we can't put in here in video form, you know... because it's somebody's broken NDA and all...
If the ultimate destruction aspect of the game sounds familiar, that's because The Finals has the same designers as BF: BC2. So, if you were dying for a taste of old-school Battlefield, then this is the game you've been waiting for. Unfortunately, though, you're gonna have to do quite a bit of waiting, since The Finals is only due to release in late 2023.
