This came a bit out of nowhere: wildlife will now appear in GTA Online. Rockstar just announced this in a new Newswire entry, confirming that animals will join the GTA Online world in a new update.

GTA Online Adds Animals To Current-Gen Consoles

With the newest update, Wildlife will be added to GTA Online on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as part of the upcoming December update. Here’s how Rockstar phrased this new feature:

“Wildlife comes to Freemode: animals now rove the Southern San Andreas landscape across GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles”

While animals always populated Los Santos and Blaine County in the GTA 5 singleplayer mode, they have been missing in the Online mode until now. Weird, but cool that Rockstar is at least adding them in now.

The wildlife adds a lot to the environment in GTA 5, and it will give the map another element of life and interactivity, which will surely be very welcome for players.

Deer and coyotes are not the only thing coming to GTA Online this month. The new update will also introduce a new garage for GTA+ members, a "newly streamlined" Interaction menu and Yusuf Amir from Grand Theft Auto 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony is making an appearance as part of a new set of missions.
