15. Rampage (2018)

George’s death was never going to stick—not once Dwayne Johnson got involved. The original script let the albino gorilla die after helping save Chicago, but Johnson objected so strongly that he said he was prepared to leave *Rampage*. What remains is an emotional fake-out: George collapses after being impaled, Davis mourns him, then the ape opens an eye and gives him a cheeky gesture. *The Game* spends two hours dismantling Nicholas Van Orton’s reality, only to reveal that every betrayal, shooting, and apparent corpse was part of an immersive birthday present. Even his apparent leap into the void lands him safely on an air cushion inside a ballroom, where family and hired performers are waiting with champagne. The surprise is initially delicious, but the cheerful explanation requires CRS to have predicted his every movement—including precisely where he would jump. Cropped Little Shop of Horrors — 8. Little Shop of Horrors (1986)

Frank Oz filmed the ending that *Little Shop of Horrors* had been building toward: Audrey dies, Seymour is eaten, and Audrey II’s offspring conquer the world during an apocalyptic “Don’t Feed the Plants.” Test audiences revolted at losing the leads, so the theatrical version lets Seymour rescue Audrey, destroy the plant, marry her and move into their pastel suburban dream. It sounds uplifting until one awkward question arrives: what happened to Sean’s consciousness? The originally filmed ending pays off the clues that those creatures think, love and have come to rescue the female Neville captured.
