After eight seasons with TSM, mid laner and coach Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg is leaving the org. The 25-year-old will want to return to pro play and is looking for options in both NA and Europe as a starting mid-laner.
At the end of 2020, Bjergsen had announced his retirement from professional League of Legends. During the 2021 Spring and Summer Split, he coached the TSM League team, but by the end of the summer split, rumors were afloat that the former mid laner wanted to return to the pro scene.
TSM was going through a shift, with a whole new roster in 2021, jungler Spica being the only returning member of the 2020 Season. SwordArt and Huni, two Worlds runner-ups joined the team as well as the German mid laner PowerOfEvil, but even with this roster, the team wasn’t able to qualify for the 2021 World Championship.
On October 28, 2021, TSM released a statement regarding Bjergsen and his future with Team Solo Mid. TSM CEO Andy “Reginald” Dinh and League of Legends team manager Parth Nadir explained that they had made a competitive offer to their long-time mid laner, but were informed that he would not be pursuing a future with TSM.
Instead, Bjergsen will be relocating to another team. Whether this team is an NA squad or an EU team is yet to be known, but the management of TSM wish their long-time player, coach and friend all the best in his future endeavors.

TSM to Rebuild LoL Roster Ahead of 2022 Season
The 2021 mid laner PowerOfEvil also tweeted out on October 20, 2021, that he is in discussions with TSM, but is open to other options as well. Does this mean that a core part of the 2021 roster will be leaving the team and TSM will have to rebuild from scratch once more?
One thing is for sure, the team will have to find a new coach with the absence of Bjergsen, but which players might have to be replaced is still up in the air.
