At the end of each year Riot ends their ranked season. Those of you who were lucky enough to reach Gold or higher even get some interesting goodies, so what can you get at the end of Season 12 and what do you have to look forward to in Season 13?
League of Legends Season 12 has been a tumultuous one. New champions that have completely taken over the pro meta were released, while halfway through the year Riot decided to put a lid on burst damage with the huge durability update.
We started off the season with two new dragons, but one of them had to quickly be removed due to being just too game breaking. So many new things, so much has happened, and now it's time to see what rewards Riot has for those of us who stayed throughout the year.
LoL Season 12: When Will the Season End?
By Season, we mean the competitive season of League of Legends. Usually, Riot ends the season at the beginning or midway through November. Last year Season 11 ended November 15, 2022 with LoL Patch 11.23 which was the second-to-last patch of the year.
Similarly, we think that Season 12 could end around November 16, which is set to hit servers with LoL Patch 12.22 which is also going to be the second-to-last patch of the year. Riot usually has a pre-season before the beginning of the new ranked season in which they implement big changes.
Hopefully Riot decides to delete some of these champions in the pre-season:
What Big Changes Will Be Implemented In Pre-Season 13?
Last year, Riot added two new dragons and new items, while this pre-season we're expecting to get some more jungle changes. According to a post by Riot in August, the balance team is looking to make the jungle an easier position to start off with.
Matt "Phroxzon" Leung-Harrison, the lead designer of the League of Legends balance team also stated in a Tweet that they would look to see how to improve the state of the top lane in League of Legends in pre-season, but there's been no news on what they will change there.
What Are The End-of-Season Rewards?
At the end of every League of Legends ranked season Riot gives out small gifts to every single player that played ranked. If you even made it to Gold or above you'll be rewarded with a victorious skin, as well as a chroma corresponding to your rank. Last year players received a Victorious Blitzcrank skin and based on their rank a bunch of chromas as well.

You'll also receive rewards for reaching a specific honor level in League of Legends by the end of the season. So make sure to stay nice even during stressful games to rake in those honor levels, so you can get some rewards at the end of Season 11.
- Honor 3 Rewards
- Honor 3 End of Season Capsule (includes 1 random ward skin + 3 Key Shards)
- Honor 4 Rewards
- Honor 4 End of Season Capsule (includes 1 random ward skin + 1 random emote permanent + 3 Key Shards)
- Honor 5 Rewards
- Honor 5 End of Season Capsule (includes 1 random ward skin +1 random emote permanent + 6 Key Shards)
Of course, these rewards are taken from the end of Season 11, but we don't think that Riot is going to make too many changes to their reward system in 2022. So, if you really want to get a free skin at the end of the season, then it's time to grind some solo queue, so you can reach Gold IV.
