The League of Legends World Championship is cut up into multiple stages. The first stage is the Play-In phase where the first place teams of the minor regions, the second place teams of the PCS and VCS, as well as the third and fourth place teams of the LCS, LEC, LPL and LCK compete for a chance to make it to the main phase.

Twelve teams will qualify for the Play-In stage which is going to take place in Mexico City. Only four will be able to move onto the main stage in New York City, though.
