Amazons MGM is reportedly in talks with actress Sydney Sweeney and director Jon M. Chu for their movie adaptation of the popular video game "Split Fiction".

MGM are reportedly acquiring Split Fiction and are planning to adapt the popular video game Split Fiction. The deal is supposedly set at $2 million, and Amazon is already preparing for a movie adaptation with Sydney Sweeney in a leading role.
Amazon Beats Sony
A few months ago, the battle for the acquisition of Split Fiction was still ongoing. Among Amazons MGM, Sony was also interested in bidding for the title. Now, Amazon is finalizing their deal as confirmed by Variety. The movie adaptation is supposedly starring Sydney Sweeney, known for her performance in Euphoria and Everything Sucks!, together with director Jon M. Chu, who previously worked on Wicked, the Step-Up series, and Crazy Rich. The script will be written by Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese, who also wrote the script for the popular Deadpool & Wolverine.

What Is Split Fiction?
In the co-op game Split Fiction, you play as Mio Hudson or Zoe Foster, who want to make it big as writers. They turn to a company called Rader Publishing aiming to test a new "machine". This contraption places the writers in their story they submitted and lets them see it as reality. While Zoe is excited and hopes for her to get published as a real author, Mio, who was originally only interested in the payout, panics. After a ruffle, this wrongly places her in Zoe's bubble along with her where they have to work together to escape this false reality, navigating through each other's stories.
In the game, each stage is accompanied by a unique but mostly one-off game mechanic. For example, the two can command dragons in one stage while wielding a laser sword and whip in another. In addition, the abilities of the two characters are different in each stage, meaning that the two must work together and use the respective abilities of their playable characters to progress.

Apart from Sweeney playing one of the writers, we know that Story Kitchen’s Dmitri M. Johnson & Mike Goldberg will produce the feature take, together with Timothy I. Stevenson executive producing. Additionally, Hazelight Studios’ Josef Fares and Oskar Wolontis will also be involved in guiding the process (because it's their game, of course).
What do you say? Which of the two writers do you think will Sydney Sweeney play? And who would be the best choice for the other one?
