Who would have thought that Twitch fame boosts your dating life?

Asmongold admits that, before fame, women barely noticed him.

When Fame Matters More Than Looks

In a recent stream, Asmongold shared his thoughts on the trend of “looksmaxing,” which focuses on improving one’s physical appearance. However, Asmongold is a streamer who is well known for neglecting his own physical appearance, and according to him, there is simply no realistic way for him to look good.

“I’m a really ugly guy. The way that I look on my camera right now is the best that I can make myself look. If you look at any video of me, any photo of me, you’re going to have thousands of comments with thousands of likes saying that I look like a ghoul, I look awful, everything else. It’s just bad RNG.”

He went on to explain that even styling his hair in different ways would not change anything. According to Asmongold, no amount of effort would significantly alter how people perceive his appearance.

In addition to this, he talked about how his interactions with women have changed since he became famous. He mentioned that during his time in school and college, his interactions with women were very limited, but that this apparently changed once his Twitch career started to take off.

“Anytime that a girl would interact with me, it’s like, ‘ok, now this has happened because you’re a popular streamer and people know you.’ I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing always.”

His comments ultimately raise a broader point about how much weight is placed on appearance versus other factors. While working on one’s looks is natural and can be positive, it is easy to take the idea of self-optimization too far. You do not need a six-pack or a perfectly defined jawline to connect with someone. In many cases, investing in character, confidence, and authenticity may matter far more. At the end of the day, being yourself is enough.
