Asmongold defends his messy room and explains why he rejects luxury, but many find it disgusting.
Asmongold, one of the most well-known American streamers, has built a massive community over the past few years. The 36-year-old became famous mainly through his “World of Warcraft” streams and his outspoken, often controversial comments on gaming and pop culture topics. Besides his reach, he repeatedly stands out for his unconventional lifestyle image and that is exactly what this is about again: Asmongold defends his chaotic home and explains why he consciously rejects a “luxury lifestyle.”
Streamer Defends Himself Against Criticism Over Mess
The streamer was recently criticized again for the condition of his streaming room. The room has long been a meme in the scene: trash, disorder, and overall a very unkempt impression. In the past, Asmongold has already shown several “clean-up sessions” and let's just say: they were far from pleasant. Among other things, rotting food and even dead animals were found in the trash, which (for good reason) disgusted many viewers and raised the question of why he lets his home deteriorate like that.
The trigger for the current discussion was a post by streamer Denims, who shared a photo of Asmongold’s room to ridicule his opinion on a topic. Asmongold responded and defended himself vehemently. He emphasized that despite his success and wealth, he deliberately leads a “normal” lifestyle – unlike many other well-known creators. In his statements, he criticized that many streamers live a life of high comfort: food is delivered, house cleaners take care of cleaning, and overall everything seems like a luxurious, sheltered life.
Asmongold countered that he cleans his house himself when necessary. “If I want my house clean, I do it myself,” he said, stressing that he leads a completely normal life in this respect. He compared himself to other streamers like Denims or QTCinderella and said they would immediately pay someone to clean up a room like that. He, however, always cleaned up his own mess and for him, that was an expression of “real American” everyday life.
In his view, it is a sign of down-to-earthness not to depend on service providers but to handle everyday tasks yourself. He said he does not want to live like a celebrity, but “like an American” as independently as possible, without the luxury that many in the streaming world consider standard.
Asmongold defended his room and how he lives his daily life after streamers Denima & QT Cinderella made fun of him for having a messy/ unclean house.

Asmongold Attracts Attention Again
The debate about Asmongold’s lifestyle is not new. He has previously caused a stir with unusual statements, such as when he explained that a dead rat body served as his “alarm clock” because the smell woke him up in the morning. His claim that he hadn’t showered for several months also went viral and was widely discussed within the community.
Whether you find Asmongold’s lifestyle sympathetic or disgusting, the discussion shows how much the streamer consciously presents a counterimage to the glossy influencer world. For him, it seems clear: those who take care of their daily life themselves stay connected to reality and that, he says, is “American.”
What do you think? Does his explanation make sense, or does it sound like an excuse to you?
