"I Think His Brain Is Corrupt": Ludwig Claims xQc Acts Differently in Real Life

Is xQc playing a character on stream? Ludwig seems to think so.

Recently, 50 of the biggest streamers gathered for MrBeast’s $1 million challenge. After meeting xQc in person at the event, Ludwig had something to reveal.

"On Stream" Is Not Always Real Life

When a former Smash Melee pro and a former Overwatch pro meet face to face, you might expect high tension. But when they came together at the event, things were actually very harmonic. However, once they went their separate ways, Ludwig felt the need to share some impressions with his community:

“xQc is like Jekyll and Hyde. Because who xQc is on stream is a really brash person who can talk, off-cuff, incredibly negatively about people. People he knows in real life. He says, actually, some really mean, mean [things] about people he knows in the real world."

Yet this was not how Ludwig experienced him in person:

“And then, you meet him in real life, and he treats the person who is online, saying those mean things, as a different person. He’s really sweet in real life. And it’s like, ‘Weren’t you just talking crazy [stuff]?’ But I think his brain is so corrupt, he views it all as content and not legitimate.”

While this statement was polarizing in it of itself, xQc saw the clip an reacted to it. In his view, there is nothing unusual about that contrast. He explained that if he calls someone out for something like viewbotting on stream, it does not mean he would treat them with hostility in person. To him, that is just one aspect of a person, not the entirety of who they are. Rather than directly disputing Ludwig’s characterization, xQc reframed it, suggesting that on-stream criticism and real-life interaction operate on two different levels.

With that, xQc touched on something relevant to today’s online culture: a streamer’s persona rarely reflects the full complexity of who they are. Just because there is conflict online does not necessarily mean two people cannot have a normal conversation when they meet in person. In that sense, both seem to have a point here.

Still, someone might want to remind xQc of that the next time he starts trash-talking people in Deadlock.
