Reckless Ben has taken his feud with Bricks & Minifigs to the next level by opening a rival LEGO store.
YouTuber Reckless Ben, whose real name is Benjamin Schneider, has opened the first Reckless Bricks store in Tucson, Arizona. The new shop occupies a location that previously operated as a Bricks & Minifigs franchise, adding another twist to the ongoing legal battle between Schneider and the LEGO resale company.
Reckless Bricks Opens in Former Bricks & Minifigs Store
The store officially opened on September 12 at a location on South Houghton Road in Tucson. The shop sells LEGO sets alongside action figures, collectibles, custom minifigures, bulk bricks, and other products.
The opening was livestreamed by Reckless Ben and several other creators. The previous Bricks & Minifigs branding was covered up as the store launched under the new Reckless Bricks name.
Ben has presented the store as an alternative to the Bricks & Minifigs franchise model. During his livestream, he encouraged other franchise owners to consider switching to his brand, claiming they could rebrand their businesses and pay him zero percent in royalties.
He called the Tucson location the “first domino”, suggesting that other Bricks & Minifigs stores could potentially follow.
New Store Opens Amid Ongoing Lawsuit
The timing is particularly notable because Reckless Ben is still involved in a legal dispute with BAM Franchising, the company behind Bricks & Minifigs.
The conflict began after Ben investigated a disputed LEGO Star Wars collection that the Mansell family said had been improperly handled after being consigned to a Bricks & Minifigs location in Oregon. BAM later filed a lawsuit against Schneider and other defendants. The Mansell family's separate dispute with BAM has since been settled, but the case involving Reckless Ben remains ongoing.
A federal court has allowed Ben to continue discussing the case and conducting lawful investigative journalism, while restrictions remain on activities such as threats, doxxing, trespassing, and interference with Bricks & Minifigs locations.
BAM has already acknowledged the new store internally, with marketing director Katelyn Fagan reportedly telling franchisees that the company was taking “swift, decisive” action. However, BAM has not publicly explained what measures it plans to take.
Ben's anti-SLAPP motion in the lawsuit is due September 18, with mediation also scheduled for the coming week.
