To start the year off with a bang, Treyarch revealed a few community-requested changes coming to CoD BO6 with the Jan 3 update.

As announced by Treyarch, the Black Ops Update on January 3 will feature a few changes that were highly requested by the community. This might be an answer to the decreasing numbers of the game that was called “biggest CoD ever” right after its release.
While up to 315,000 players joined the game after its launch, in December the number dropped to 100,000 due to the release of other MMO titles like Marvel Rivals.
Changes in Multiplayer and Zombie mode
There will be more details in the complete patch notes, but here is a preview of what to expect:
- New modes for Multiplayer and Zombies
- High Roller Wildcard in MP
- Elemental Sword buffs in Zombies
- Prop Hunt improvements
- Citadelle des Morts bug fixes
- Zombies Calling Card Challenge updates
- After-Action Report improvements
An update to be excited for
Until the update is released, players still have the chance to take advantage of Double XP, even though some critics proved that they were earning less XP than with the use of a Double XP token.
Apart from that, there is a lot to be excited for. The High Roller Wildcard for example will allow players to equip an extra Scorestreak, which is quite useful for skilled players since BO6 does not feature looping Killstreaks.
The buffs of Elemental Swords are quite welcome as well, since players were really excited to unlock the weapon only to find out that they haven’t been as powerful as they thought.
What are your thoughts on the update? Could you think of anything else you would like to get an update in BO6?
